The primary goal of the Little Cayman Planning Group is to allow the residents of Little Cayman to have local control over future development on this island.

About

Large subdivisions result in loss and disturbance of natural resources, such as orchids, mature trees and shrubs, habitat fragmentation, and the loss of habitat in general for flora and indigenous animals. This is due to the clearing and filling during construction of “roads to nowhere” in these subdivisions. It is a blight on the beauty of this island.

Project

We propose to prepare a development plan for Little Cayman, because one does not now exist. At the present time, control over development rests with the DCB on Cayman Brac, which has no representative from Little Cayman.

Get Involved

We see large, uncontrolled subdivisions being approved by the DCB on Cayman Brac, over the objections of the DOE and the NCC, who point out that there are already more than 1500 buildable lots of less than 1 acre on Little Cayman.
